Being awarded 2016 Golden Bean Overall Champion is a huge honour for us. For this competition we spent a lot of time analysing our past results and fine tuning our roasting parameters. The hard work definitely paid off!

A huge benefit to us in entering the awards is that our wholesale customers who can leverage off our success. Being able to promote that the coffee they serve is recognised as Golden Bean award winning presents an incredible point of difference for their business – especially given the competitive landscape of the cafe industry. The awards we have won also reaffirms our dedication to sourcing and roasting consistently high quality coffee for our customers.

As always, entering this year’s competition has been an incredible journey Café Culture have created the largest competition of its type in the world, the team are knowledgeable, professional and helpful, you run a great event. Thanks for the opportunities this affords us.

Hope you all have recovered from the amazing Compak Golden Bean. I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to be part of the engine room. It was definitely a great experience to be involved with this coffee experience.

Although Bonissimo is based in WA we have attended just about every Golden Bean event since it’s inception. We have seen the event go from strength to strength, each year bringing in overseas and local speakers covering important and current issues. We found the 2013 Golden Bean thoroughly enjoyable and well organised. We were keen to get involved in judging the amazing array of coffee categories submitted to the competition. The dedication and skill of the team involved behind the tasting is to be commended. It is a great opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with some of the most knowledgeable industry members in a comfortable environment.

This year Bennetts became representatives of the newly introduced ‘Green Bean Zone’. Here we had the opportunity to showcase some of our new specialty micro lots and discuss the future prospects of the industry.  This new category to the event was a great way for green bean suppliers to share information not only with their customers, but also with each other. The coffee world is extremely interconnected, and getting everyone in the same room is a beneficial opportunity for sharing knowledge and improving the industry.

A big cheer to Sean and the Café Culture team for putting on a great event. We look forward to doing it all again next year!
