Brandon Bir – Coffee Triangulations of the World
Brandon Bir, SCA AST, SCA Sensory Course Contributor, Q-grader, and Golden Bean Champion from Crimson Cup in the USA, will be leading a workshop to explore coffees of the world. This workshop will help those interested in taking the Q-grader exam. You will not only touch upon the 4 q-grader tests, but will build upon the basic understanding of cupping protocols, the coffee flavor wheel, and differences in coffee profiles due to processing, variety, and/or region. In one short day, we will taste our way through Central and South America, Africa, and Asia.
Part sensory science, part history, and lots of tasting, this workshop is for coffee professionals that want to develop calibration skills and be positioned to make better informed purchasing decisions.
