Golden Bean COVID-19 Safety Plan
We will only be running 5 categories this year. Espresso, Milk Based, Filter, Franchise Milk and Alternate Milk. We have limited the number to 100 entries per category and a roaster can only enter the category once. To make the playing field even tighter we have put a price max of green beans at $60 per kilo. We want to test the skills of the roaster not the size of their wallet.
Conditions of entry will be very different to any other Golden Bean event to date. There will be signage on entry to sanitise, adhere to the 1.5 metre rule, attendees are asked to sign in by use of a QR code when entering the Golden Bean venue. Attendees are advised to check the NSW website – https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19 for current public health advice in relation to locations where people who visited are required to self-isolate.
The COVID marshal is prepared to ask attendees & staff to leave if they demonstrate signs that they are not well. Marshals will also be temperature checking all attendees & staff before they enter the venue.
Due to this years event being invite only we don’t want any competitors/ viewers to miss out. So at this years Golden Bean Australia 2020 the public will be updated on the progress via social media – see link to instagram . The results will be live streamed a week after the event. This will provide virtual attendance for anyone who is at a high risk of developing COVID-19 such as the elderly or people with conditions affecting their immunity.
Everyone will be assigned to an allocated seat, with a maximum of 6 people per table. Seating will be distanced to 1.5 metres. To reduce risk we will also be providing Zexa Sure Shield Surface sanitiser on each table. All high touch areas will be sanitised regularly by the COVID marshals.
We are taking every precaution to provide a safe and comfortable Golden Bean this year. Hopefully we will be back in 2021 with a full event schedule.
