All you need to know about this year's competition

🏆 Become the Overall Golden Bean Champion 🏆
To become the Overall Golden Bean Champion, and take home a custom Reg Barber made Golden Bean Trophy, roasters need to enter a coffee into three categories:
Category 1: Espresso
Category 2: Milk-Based
Category 3: Filter
Winners of categories 4, 5, 6, & 7 are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, but scores do not contribute to Overall Champion.
To be eligible to win Overall Large or Small Franchise Champion you must enter commercially available coffee in the following categories:
Category 8 & 9 (Large Chain Store / Franchise)
Category 10 & 11 (Small Chain Store / Franchise)
*Large is defined by 20+ and Small is 3-20

Important Bag Information
We are so excited for the new RECYCLABLE coffee bag technology from Roastar.
⚠️Important Information ⚠️
This year we are returning to Golden Bean branded bags.
HOWEVER:
We are sending them out to a select roasters within Australia/ Keep your eyes peeled!
👉 The bags will be arriving in the next 2 weeks.
👉 Each roaster will receive 6 bags. If you are entering more coffee entries do not fear - send your remaining entries in unbranded bags with packing slip stapled.
👉 When in doubt, send your coffee entries in unbranded packaging with packing slip stapled like previous Golden Beans.
👉If you don’t end receiving bags in the mail, do not worry - the Roastar Team will be at Golden Bean this year doing a presentation on their incredible valve technology.
*We are not sending bags to New Zealand or Asia. Australia only.

What Happens After You Enter Your Coffee
After we have received your entry we will send you Golden Bean entry instructions, conference information as well as instructions on how you can send your coffee to us.

Please note:
It is the responsibility of the roaster to choose the delivery date of their coffee (within the window of dates advised) to ensure it is at its best on the days of judging.
